WAPDA Postgraduate College Tarbela, was established on the left bank of the Indus, amidst lofty green and salubrious mountains in background, in the close vicinity of the reservoirs of Ghazi brotha barrage and Tarbela dam which makes its ambiance more remark-able and serene.

Recognizing this as a vital social responsibility, WAPDA has been providing quality education at nominal fees through its institutions across the country, benefiting especially the lower-income groups. WAPDA Inter College Tarbela was established in 1978 to educate children of employees when no college existed nearby. Upgraded to degree level in 1987, it later gained the status of WAPDA Postgraduate College in 2017 on public demand. Since then, it has been offering equal opportunities to both boys and girls, combining academics with co-curricular activities. The college has consistently achieved distinctions in education, debates, and sports at board and university levels.
