A dignified nation ranks education at profound stature. WAPDA is providing education to WAPDA/Non WAPDA students at nominal fees through different educational institutions across the country. Keeping in view this national cause, Tarbela Dam Administration is offering quality education through five high schools for boys/ girls and one Postgraduate College that is providing compatible higher education at BS level as per HEC policy. I believe that WAPDA Postgraduate College Tarbela is striving for all round growth and development of students’ faculties and shaping them into valuable citizens of Pakistan.
I, as General Manager of TDP, ensure provision of quality education i.e education in wider sense encompassing academics and Co-Curricular activities with particular emphasis on character building.
As education Is the first and foremost priority of any nation for achieving advancement and prosperity, therefore, literacy rate and education of a nation is the hallmark of any nation for the social uplifting and progress. Keeping in mind that this is the most significant form of corporate social responsibility, WAPDA is providing education to WAPDA/Non-WAPDA students at nominal fees through educational institutions across the country. This is a obviously valuable contribution because majority of the students belong to lower strata of society in economic and social terms. WAPDA Inter College at Tarbela Dam Project was established in 1978 to provide quality education to children of WAPDA employees as there was no college in the vicinity at that time. In 1987, the classes of BA / B. Sc. were commenced as the college was upgraded to degree level. Later, on the demand of employees and the general public/affectees of Tarbela Dam project, the college was granted the status of WAPDA Postgraduate College in February, 2017. Since its inception Wapda Postgraduate College Tarbela is catering academic opportunities for both boys and girls on equal basis. The college is providing quality education and co curricular activities to students to excel at intermediate and university level. The College has the privilege to attain top notch positions in academics; debates and sports both at inter board and university level.
WAPDA Postgraduate College has all the facilities required by a standard educational institution. It has separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Sciences along with a huge collection of books in the library. It has a large Auditorium for co-curricular activities. To keep the students busy in healthy activities, two multipurpose playgrounds are also available. Currently, a total number of about 550 children of WAPDA employees from various formations are getting the benefits of quality education almost free of cost.
